Connect your editor
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other MCP clients can work in your Dugout workspace. From your terminal they look up and update cards, link pull requests, move cards through a board’s workflow, and read and write documents. They connect to Dugout’s MCP server and act as you.
Editor access is part of the Standard and Pro plans.
Connect
Dugout’s MCP server is at:
https://api.dugout.so/mcpYou’ll also find it, with a copy button, in the app: open your profile menu at the bottom of the bar on the left, then Preferences → Coding tools, under Connect your editor.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http dugout https://api.dugout.so/mcpCodex
codex mcp add dugout --url https://api.dugout.so/mcpCursor
Select Install in Cursor on that page in Preferences. It adds the server to Cursor’s MCP settings.
Any other MCP client
Add the server to the client’s configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"dugout": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.dugout.so/mcp"
}
}
}Sign in
The first time the editor connects, it opens a browser window. Sign in, pick the workspace, and approve. Access lasts until you revoke it; there is no token to paste.
A tool that can’t open a browser
Use a personal token instead: on the same page in Preferences, select Create token under Use a personal token instead. The token is shown once, acts as you, and reaches only what the MCP server reaches. Pass it in a header:
claude mcp add --transport http dugout https://api.dugout.so/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"What it can do
- Boards and cards. Find, create, and update cards, with their comments, checklists, labels, and attachments; move them through the board’s workflow; and link a pull request to its card.
- Documents. Create, read, and edit docs, sheets, and slides, and read files in Drive.
- Search. Messages, channels, people, files, and documents.
- People and conversations. Read only.
It can’t send messages, run agent sessions, huddles, or workflows, or manage credentials, apps, or webhooks. Those stay in the app.
Disconnect
Every editor you’ve connected, and every personal token, is listed under Connected editors on the same page. Select Revoke to disconnect one.
